Haul Review: L'Oreal Lash Architect 4D

Hello!

So few days ago, I finally found the perfect mascara for me! And I want every girl out there to have their 'perfect mascara', so I'm totally recommending this specific mascara product to you gals! This is my recent discovery, and I love the fact that I found out about this from my mom (she's a super fan of L'Oreal products). It's L'Oreal's Lash Architect 4D. I super love it because:

1.) It makes your lashes look thicker and fuller. It volumnizes lash hair so perfectly even with just ONE coat! You don't have to bother yourself to go through the hassle of putting on fake lashes, really.

2.) It's easy to wash off.

3.) It's not pricey! I got mine for only 6.500 Kuwaiti Dinars. Approximately around Php 975! Very worth it.

And, lucky me! It came with a free eye-liner! ;)

I decided to take a picture for you guys to see the difference. I had nothing but foundation and pressed powder around my eye area.

Left eyelash has the ONE coat of L'Oreal's Lash Architect 4D.
Right eyelash has nothing at all.

This is how it looks like with the flash on.

Have a good day!

DARE to BARE?

Hello gals!

So we all have seen what Anne Curtis wore (gown by Rajo Laurel) at the 1st Annual Philippine Fashion Ball...

And I have to admit... I LOVED it! I loved how she pulled it so confidently, so effortless!

But at the recent Esquire (magazine) ball, it seems like cut-out dresses have become a trend!
And it seems like si Rajo Laurel may pasimuno nito :)

Divine Lee's gown seems similar to Anne Curtis' cut-out dress above

The cut-outs of Rajo Laurel look "smooth" compared to this one designed by Veejay Floresca, it looks "edgy".

RESTUARANT 101!

Before I became a student of Enderun, my dad told me that he read a Filipino magazine back in Kuwait ("Panorama") saying that Restaurant 101 of Enderun Colleges is included in the Top 5 of best restaurants in Metro Manila.

Restaurant 101

So for the first time last night, my folks and I dined in at Resto 101 to find out if what he read in that magazine was true (Of course, even before we ate there I KNOW it's true. It's my college, hahaha)

Here is what we had last night:

I had this for soup: Lemongrass-scented SHRIMP BROTH, crisp vegetables
Forest MUSHROOM, truffle foam
I loved the presentation! They served the plate only with the shrimp and veggies. The soup is then poured onto your plate infront of you.

And we shared a plate for this salad: ROMAINE HEART, Caesar dressing, crispy bacon, Parmesan crisp, multigrain crouton, poached egg, anchovies
I really love the presentation!

And for the main course we each had a separate order.

This is what I had: Braised BEEF JOWLS, orange-tamarind glaze, young leeks, wild rice
I'm going to start and brag about HOW TENDER THE STEAK WAS. Technically, this isn't Beef Jowls because they didn't have it. It was only braised beef; but really, I don't see any difference. My life focused on how tender and juicy this steak was. I didn't even tell the waiter to have my steak done to medium rare, and yet it's still cooked to perfection.

Here's a TIP FOR STEAK LOVERS: NEVER, as in NEVER have your steak well-done. Because it's just like burning your Louis Vuitton!!! As much as possible just try to go on to medium well if you are well, not a fan of "bloody" steaks. But let me tell you this, it's not really blood, it's the juice of the steak! I would recommend you to have your steak done medium rare (check the degree chart above).

Here's what my mom had: Slow roasted Kurobota PORK BELLY, balsamic adobo glaze garlic rice, green mango atchara
NEVER TASTED PORK THIS GOOD. That's all I'm gonna say.

And here's what my dad had: Pan seared Fillet of LAPU LAPU, "Duglere style" Shimeji mushroom, wilted kalian
My dad had the Kalian (it's kind of like Pechay in the Philippines, but this one is from Thailand, I guess it's their "Pechay") for his first bite. And the first thing he uttered was "Mmmmmmmmmmm", then it went on with a cuss. Imagine? Haha!

Lastly, this is what we had for dessert: Warm Chocolate Pudding pistachio ice cream
What I liked about this is that the chocolate was JUST RIGHT. Not too sweet, and not too bitter. It was perfectly in between. It's so seductively delicious. The warmth of the chocolate filling inside seems like it's always pulling me back again and again. Ahh, it's perfect, especially with the Pistachio Ice Cream. I liked the pistachio ice cream better than the usual vanilla. It doesn't taste too milky and creamy in your mouth.

In terms of price, it's worth it. It won't really burn your pockets to ashes. My folks and I had a bill of only approximately Php 2,500, that's including everything! The dining experience was hotel-like, but better than hotel and cheaper! Best dine-in experience I've had so far in the Philippines.

Yumyum!

We all had stuffed bear toys. At a point in our kiddie life, or even up to now, we've had them beside our bed to cuddle with. We all know how comfy and huggable they are. We've also known bears (real ones) for being dangerous. We've heard stories that were victims of bear attacks. But have you heard of bears being in pain in the hands of humans? Why don't you check this out...

Here is the main point of the story...

"When the bear was trapped, she lost not only her paws and four limbs for a good fortune of money, but she was locked up in the cage and had to endure daily torture of bile collection up to 25 or 30 years. This bile collection process requires a hole to be cut in the bear stomach and an iron pipe inserted into the bear gall bladder. Bile was then taken several times a day. The entire procedure was done without anaesthetic in order to save cost. The pain was excruciating. The bear could not bear it and attempted to kill herself by punching her stomach. However, human prevented this suicide act by forcing the bear to wear an iron vest. With this iron vest, her movement was restricted; committing suicide was an impossible task. A mother bear knew it too well. When the bear worker wanted to open up her cub’s stomach, the mother bear broke open the cage and went after the cub. After failing to release the chained cub, she hugged the cub. The mother bear then killed the cub to save it from a life of hell."

How gruesome of those humans involved in this. Just for the sake to be able to earn money and to be able to save cost, they'd do everything, disregarding all facts--even those that will be harmful to animals.

If you have read the short part of the story I posted above, these bear biles are collected to be made and produced into medicines, specifically Traditional Asian Medicines. "Bear bile contains ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA), which is believed to reduce fever, protect the liver, improve eyesight, break down gallstones, and act as an anti-inflammatory"

The process of their collection of bile is inhumane. They don't even use any anaesthesia to AT LEAST reduce the pain the bear feels. Plus, these bears are kept in cages where they can't even barely move! If you keep someone in a cage, tendency is they will be aggressive. These bears have become like that, and it's just really disappointing...

Cheers to a first-timer!

Hi gals! It's my first time to blog. Well actually, no... The last time I did was around 6 years ago (I was 12-13), and I used XANGA pa to blog! Hahahah! Imagine what in the world I was blogging about...

Well anyways, let me introduce myself to you gals first, (but I'm not gonna say everything about me because I want you gals to get to know me more through my posts)... I'm Evan (ee-van), and the reason why I put a "MISS" in my blogsite's name is because people ALWAYS mistake me as a male when they hear my name "Evan" alone. I'm scared that one day they might think I'm gay or something and my previous name was Evan. Hahahahaha! I guess I'll blog about the story behind my name soon... :)

Let me resume introducing myself... I'm 18, turning 19 this November 16th (pwede magbigay ng regalo. haha!). I'm a student of Enderun Colleges taking up BS Entrepreneurship. I do not have any siblings :( but that's okay.

Anyways, recently I performed Lady Gaga's "Telephone" at Meralco Theatre in Ortigas last Saturday, I'll try to post the video on my next blog post... Meanwhile, here is a picture of me singing )

You gals have a good night! :)
